Women are more likely to report pain levels, “have lower pain threshold and tolerance” and commonly use more maladaptive coping strategies (Mills et al., 2019). In addition, females report a higher pain-related disability than men as well as higher level of pain intensity (Mills et al., 2019). In addition, women’s pain is usually undertreated and often dismissed (Mills et al., 2019).The goal of this project is to provide this population with different methods to address chronic pain that will limit the use of opioid drugs thus decreasing the opioid mortality rate and decrease the opioid deaths taking a toll in the American society.
