GENERALIST PRACTICE WITH COMMUNITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS COURSE: SWK 300 OUTLINE FOR WORKPLAN PAPERPurpose: The purpose of this assignment is for the student groups to present a detailed description of the project that they are proposing to work on incorporating the appropriate literature and demonstrating their understanding of the process of intervention planning in work with communities.  The proposal should include the following: I.                             Introduction:The students should define their community, identifying the target population, need population, and action population in their community. Here student groups should explain the nature of the need that they plan to address through their organizing effort as well as how their project will impact upon that need.II.                         Statement of the project: Here the student group should explain what it is they are proposing to do. It should include the goals of the project.  All the goals should meet the criteria for a good goal as discussed in class.  This section can be presented in bullet form.III.                     Actions to be taken. Here the student group should discuss in detail the actions to be taken. The actions to be taken should be organized in such a way as to be consistent with the phases of the helping relationship. [Engagement, Assessment, Contracting, Implementation, Evaluation] For each action the students should explain why they are taking this particular action and how it will help them to reach their goal. Students should also include a timeline for when they expect the action being proposed to be completed. For Example:A.        Engagement: How will you engage your community to get them invested in your project? With whom will you do outreach? How will the outreach be done?B.       Assessment:  Refer to your community assessment of Willimantic, your community interviews regarding your project topic, and any other insights you have gathered from community contact or others. What have your learned regarding the community issue that will inform your project? What other data do you need to gather as a part of the project? C.       Contracting/Action Planning: What role did the community have in the project planning process? How will you ensure that the members of the community will remain involved in the process? D.       Implementation: What do you plan to do? What is your timeline? How will this contribute to reaching your goal?E.        Evaluation: How will you measure your success?
